Yangir

In recent years, trade relations with the Chinese market have significantly increased. In this context, the “Yangir” fiber has emerged, obtained from the Siberian Goat, which is widespread across the mountains from India to Siberia. Hunted mainly for food, Yangir fiber is manually extracted from the goat’s hairs and collected in small batches. Approximately 1,000 kg of fiber can be ejarrated from 15,000 skins. This cream/fawn-colored fiber is noted for its fineness (13-15 microns) and short length (20-30 mm). Not protected by CITES, it is used to produce high-quality scarves for niche markets.
